In this role, Kristin assists the Chief Education Officer in managing projects and initiatives requiring strategic coordination and planning between state education agencies, partners and communities with a focus on equity and inclusion. She plays a leadership role in the management of stakeholder, legislative and intergovernmental outreach by the Chief Education Office (CEdO), and manages the agency’s community engagement, strategic partnership development, and media relations. Kristin serves as a liaison between the Communications Office of the Governor and state education agencies.
Kristin Gimbel brings more than 15 years of experience in strategic communications, media relations, resource development and community engagement with community organizations and businesses alike to her role as Public Affairs Director. She has spent the bulk of her career leading communication and engagement work on issues related to education, families, health and housing. Through more than 10 years working in non-profit organizations she highly values communication created with communities and key stakeholders and brings this perspective to her role at the CEdO. Kristin is committed to ensuring that each student across Oregon has access to a high quality education and is honored to be part of a team actively working with partners to develop policies and build capacity to make that vision a reality.
