Lisa Morawski joined the Chief Education Office in October 2017, after spending more than 10 years helping the state communicate to consumers, businesses, media, and stakeholders on critical issues, such as health insurance, financial security, and workplace safety and health. She most recently served as public information and communications director at the Department of Consumer and Business Services, Oregon’s largest consumer protection and business regulatory agency. Before coming to Oregon, Morawski worked in journalism, as editor of the Dayton Business Journal in Ohio. She has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Dayton. She lives in Salem with her husband and two young children.
