Building Bridges: Columbia Gorge Education and Workforce Development
The Columbia Gorge Regional Center of Innovation (CGRCI) is working to address issues related to local economic prosperity by focusing efforts on early learning outcomes, issues of multigenerational poverty, and the development of a trained local workforce.

Story: The Building Bridges: Columbia Gorge Education and Workforce Development RAC representing Hood River, Sherman, Wasco, Gilliam, Wheeler, Skamania (WA), and Klickitat (WA) counties brings together members of the education and business communities to build a more aligned set of career and college pathways, improve postsecondary accessibility, and provide students with needed industry skills. Specifically, they have been helping to develop career pathways into local renewable energy and health care career programs. The partnership has also just launched an Internship Matching Network in conjunction with local employers that is hosted through the Columbia Gorge Community College.
